The Wedding

The wedding of Graham and Emma

The Pendant

The marriage of  Graham to Emma Graham took place in Hepburn Springs on 16 February 2013. The venue was the gardens of John and Jills  Hepburn Springs Motor Inn. A nice place.

A piece of history was handed on to Emma and Graham in the form of a necklace that my Dad, Gerald, gave to his bride Alma on their wedding day on 20 May 1944. Emma wore it on  her left arm during the ceremony.

Although Graham looks surprised, they are both smiling and looking forward to going home. After all, the dogs have to be picked up and the goat needs to be fed. The wedding ceremony was conducted by a local Celebrant who was very efficient and provided a nice atmosphere for the activity. Jill and John Graham provided a wonderful setting for the wedding and for the festivities that followed and proved to be wonderful hosts.
This is the first time anyone has seen Graham in a suit and Emma in a dress. They both scrubbed up very well for the day. There was a threat of rain and pehaps a storm for the afternoon that failed to materialize, however, as Graham and Emma signed the register the act was applauded with a clap of thunder and a lightening bolt.
Flower girls: Louise, Maryrose and Annaliese
Ring Bearers James and Leon I was talking to their Mum, Karen, and commented that she had grown into a beautiful young lady. From lower down young James spoke and said “She is not a young lady.” “Why not?” I asked, “Because she is my Mum” was the answer .

Thank you, Annaliese. It was a bit difficult to pick the photos. I have to see what Aunty Elly, Susan and Cathrine have and then I may put in a couple more.

Continuing, I have no information as to his time at 70 OTU other than he was on course No 13 and Passed. His name is Gerald Gannan who passed away in 1994.
